We urgently need tinned fish. Other shortages are tinned carrots, longlife fruit juice and tinned peas. We do need carrier bags too please. Saturday 1st June We are looking to hold a working party here from 10. We will clean and tidy parts of the church and grounds to make it ready for David to come into. Canon Darren Barlow COMMUNITY MISSION WEEKEND Following the success of recent year’s events, Ss Peter & Paul’s are planning to hold this year’s community Mission Weekend on 22 & 23 June. The weekend will begin at 2pm on the Saturday and include a brass band, community stalls, bouncy castles, sports and free light refreshments. On Sunday afternoon at 4pm there will be an outdoor Songs of Praise. Please note the date in your diary and come along to what will hopefully be an enjoyable weekend. WORK MORNING Please note the we will be holding a Church Work Morning on Saturday 1st June. This will start at 10am following the Palmer’s Prayers at 9.30am. Oak Room Parents are reminded that the Oak Room is available if children become very noisy and need ‘time out’. Parents should remain with their children, supervising them at all times on church premises and grounds. The Revd David Peterson has been appointed as Team Vicar with pastoral oversight of St. Clement’s, West Thurrock and St. Mary’s, Little Thurrock. Whilst David will primarily serve at these two churches, his ministry, along with all of the other clergy and Readers, will be exercised across all four churches within our Team. David will be licenced by the Bishop of Bradwell, installed by the Archdeacon of Southend at a special service at 7.30pm on Monday 8 July at Ss Peter & Paul’s Church, Grays Town Centre. Please make a note of the date/time and make every effort to come along to welcome David, Keren and their sons. After the service there will be a bring and share buffet and ‘sign up’ sheets will be in each church shortly.
