Holy Week and Easter Please read the notices over the next few weeks for details. We had the great privilege of welcoming Rt Revd Stephen Cottrell, Bishop of Chelmsford, and Ven Mike Lodge, Archdeacon of Southend, to All Saints Chafford Hundred, for the licensing and installation of Revd Charlie Kosla.
A joyous occasion filled with warmth and fellowship, Charlie was welcomed by representatives of the local community, as well as the wider church around the area. On the day we celebrated Epiphany, the Venerable Mike Lodge, Archdeacon Of Southend, asked us if that means Christmas is now finished? How might the story continue in our own lives, and how might we use the gifts we’ve been given in service to God?
It was great to then have Archdeacon Mike license the Revd Tony Burford within the Team as an Associate Minister. Tony received a very warm reception from all those gathered, and the whole Team has welcomed him enthusiastically. We grieve with hope, because we believe that Jesus died and rose again.
I am looking forward very much to getting to know many of you, joining the team at Grays Thurrock, working with the churches and especially ministering at All Saints. I originate from Leytonstone/Stratford where I grew up in a non-Christian home that had little connection with church, but it was in Essex where I found faith and later began to minister as a Reader in the church. Now ordained 18 years I have worked in this diocese and St Albans, and for the last ten years as Mission and Evangelism Adviser for Chelmsford diocese. My passion is for churches and Christians to reach out to their communities with the love of God in Christ and see lives transformed, every person is special to God and all of us can make this known in our communities as we pray for ‘doors’ to open.
