St Peter & St Paul’s Parish Church
Grays Town Centre

St. Peter & St. Paul’s is the ancient Parish Church of Grays Thurrock. The building is ‘Grade II Listed’ and is an expression of over 900 years of Christian belief and worship within the community of Grays. The earliest parts of the present building are thought to have been built around 1100AD and in the years that have followed it has been much enlarged to its current size of around 300 seats.

Our main Sunday service takes place at 10.30am. Children’s Church groups meet which cater for children aged 3 upwards. With growing numbers of young people, our Children’s Church meet in the main Hall, located at the rear of the Church. There are Children’s activities every week too, with the 2nd Sunday of the month being our All-Age Family Service with Baptism.

Having the use of the Hall on a Sunday mornings also gives us the freedom for social events after the morning service.

We hold a midweek service of Holy Communion which takes place every Thursday morning at 10.30am.

The church is a very popular location for Weddings and Baptisms. Enquiries should be made to the Rector (details below).

The Church is open on Friday and Saturday Mornings from 10.00am until 12 noon. There is a votive candle stand, for those who wish to light candles with their prayers, coffee and tea is also available. So why not pop in and have a look around.

On the 2nd and 4th Mondays the Church is open from 10am - 12pm
for our ‘
Bereavement Coffee Drop in’, once again everyone is welcome.

The long awaited internal re-ordering of Grays Parish Church was completed in the autumn of 2008. TJ Evers Ltd a construction company based in Tiptree Essex, have carefully and mindfully restored the Church back to full glory. This included… a new main entrance, much improved disabled access, new toilets, new lighting, heating and sound system, coffee/light refreshment area, new seating within the main worship area together
with a much needed general redecoration of the interior of the building.
The exterior of building is also now floodlit.
